The Scribe

The Scribe

The Lord gave me pen
He said to use it every now and then
Tell your story good or bad
Every once in awhile be free to even get mad

Chronicle the journey as you see fit
Be specific, and omit the non-descript it
Heighten the drama with expensive jargon
Words are free and always a bargain

Keep your mind in continuous play
You know not the coming of your last day
Be not afraid of righting a wrong
Eternity is built with souls that are spiritually strong

Say a prayer at the end of the day
Mention to God that you did have your say
Be not afraid to neglect the lie
After an amen it will up and die

Wake the next morn to state your peace
Make sure the book of pages continues to increase
Put the pen down every once in a while
Thinking requires an occasional smile.

Thank you,
Joseph Pede

Pertinent, playful, profound. Read and apply.
