The Abandoned Factory

The Abandoned Factory

Barbed wired fences distorted by desolation
Security cameras dangling from the rusted eaves
Tall grass occupies the old grey crack-filled tar
The neon signs spurt an ominous glow
Locked doors greet your presence with shattered glass
Empty desks piled as cardboard trash
Keyboards operated by weaving spiders
Chairs stiffened by rusty rigor mortis
Machines idled as fallen soldiers
Dock doors at half-mast salute the ghostly trailer
Briefcases rot aside the blackened urinal
Footsteps in the dust mark the last sign of life
Welcome to the abandoned factory.

Thank you,
Joseph Pede
