A Lesson

A Lesson

Do you find it difficult to surrender the day
Is your mind preoccupied with the stresses of daily life
Do you feel alone amid the forest of humanity
Even when you are surrounded by all that matters to you

Has life become a game of survival
Have the comforting thoughts of yesteryear become faded memories
Have questions surpassed answers
Is the here and now more ominous than the hereafter

Change has become a perplexing mystery
Time too has placed constraints on your ability to seek the answers
Apathy is nurtured by meaningless activity
The mind unhealthily nourished by the refuse of a processed nature

The road to success has lengthened
The path is no longer paved with the clarity that once was so visible
Wise men have seen fit to narrow the corridor
To make foreboding the adjacent fixtures of nature

In all this there is a lesson
For these are not the intended trials and tribulations of Man
They are a diversion intended to lessen the worth of your eternal soul
To cheapen the significance of your ether

When you have arrived at this station in life
You will be accompanied by its many passengers
Amongst the sadness, futility and loneliness you will find the answer
He has been with you all the while, in your generation and each successive creation.

The soul is a sponge, fill it do not empty it.
Thank you,
Joseph Pede
