Rock of Ages

Rock of Ages

Spiders spinning silky webs
Blackened candles
Mold filled fonts
Moth eaten and tattered albs

Dusty bibles
Empty church pews
Locked door confessionals
Stale communion hosts
Crumbling crucifixes
Shadowy statues of saints

Rock of ages
Rock on, the church bells chime
Mother Mary
Bloody Mary, is better on the rocks

Stirring holy water
Make the sign of the cross
Genuflect on cold concrete
Lean on an old baptismal font
Listen to the last rites
A Pater Noster and Amen

Thank you,
Joseph Pede
