On This Cloudy and Rainy Day

On this cloudy and rainy day

I felt I needed something to say

The weather hides an eerie gloom

Not unlike the remains of an ancient tomb

The rain is wet but not of Nature

My words unable to form a logical nomenclature

The clouds are docile as if cotton balls

Charming and provoking as Kachina dolls

Prying trees lift their branches to the sky

Looking upon the sun with a blackened eye

In the distance the colors of the rainbow start to form

Naively guarding for the imminent storm

Thank you,
Joseph Pede
