The Doomsday Clock

The Doomsday Clock

Winds blow in meaningless directions
Dangling tree branches act as willing mimes
Fallen fruit rotting upon the neighboring grounds
Entombed seeds aimlessly searching for fertile ground

Church bells reverberate the haunting sounds of old
The one time calling card for the Most High
Hypnotically the brass domes sway to and fro
Chaos greets the clapper with each strike

The doomsday clock lazily ticking atop the tower
Paralysis gradually afflicting the hands of time
The rusted hammer succumbing to rigor mortis
Time is nearing its destined end

Thank you,
Joseph Pede
