The Slave

The Slave

Darkness is where light imitates invisibility
Atop the stage are illuminated particles of celebrity
In the rows sit waves of adoring unknowns
The curtain is all that separates the two

So it is with the truth
Lain in the darkness awaiting for the curtain to rise
Just as Lazarus was wrapped in darkness
Awaiting the hand of enlightenment

For whom is the slave to the other
Does light exist only in the presence of darkness
How can chains imprison the slave
When the slave forges the key to the master's chains

Thank you,
Joseph Pede
