The Death of God

The Death of God

the moon and stars lay hidden from sight
clouds drape the unsuspecting planet
humans walk about as sterile caterpillars
unconsciously cloaked with invisible demons

their hearts filled with loneliness
seeking love but finding only confusion
their minds bankrupted of all reason
seeking answers but finding only more questions

did we inadvertently plan the death of God
was He too much of an inconvenience
did life with Him become an insurmountable struggle
was He too remote to be relevant

the answers will come in time
for the soul’s journey is solely filled with it
the direction will be of no consequence
for God’s gravity will steer it to its ultimate path

Thank you,
Joseph Pede
