The Road Not Taken

The Road Not Taken

The road that many have not taken
Robert Frost had not forsaken
The choice that many fail to make
Jesus displayed on a wooden stake

Be as the road made of cobble or gravel
Your decision will always be absent of the judge’s gavel
Be as the road made of cement or asphalt
Never let your decision be someone else’s fault

There are one too many roads in someone's life
Some filled with happiness and others strife
Some are long and never ending
Others are one way streets leaving one contending

Yield when the time is ultimately right
Be as the poet who momentarily pauses to write
At journey’e end rest your bones and finally stop
Sit to contemplate the words of the fabled Aesop

Thank you,
Joseph Pede
