10 Home Remedies to Get Rid of Jock Itch Forever

10 Home Remedies to Get Rid of Jock Itch Forever

There are a lot of people who become a bit embarrassed that they are suffering from jock itch but what people should always remember is that jock itch affects both men and women. While it can affect men and women, men tend to get it more often. The itch is usually found on the buttocks, the groin, inner thighs and sometimes even the genital area. Most of the time, people are not even sure how they have gotten the itch. While there are some natural home remedies to get rid of jock itch fast, knowing more about jock itch can help you become more aware of it.

For those who are not too aware how jock itch came about, here are just some of the possible reasons for getting it:
  • Excessive Sweating
  • Obesity/Being Overweight
  • Tight Clothing
  • Weak Immune System
Usually, those who experience the causes mentioned above will develop jock itch later on. How will people know if they already have jock itch? How will you know if you already have this condition? Here are a few symptoms to watch out for:
  • A rough patch of red with hard edges on some areas of the skin.
  • Itchiness
  • Flaking Skin
  • Burning Sensation of the Skin
As much as possible, you would like to get rid of jock itch, preferably forever so how are you going to do just that? It is already quite common to go visit the doctor in order to get rid of the itch but there are also times when you might want to try to remove it with the use of home remedies.

You might be surprised to know that there are actually home remedies that you can do. The great thing about home remedies is that most of the ingredients that you need can be found in the kitchen. This will help you save on expenses and at the same time, try out things that are more natural. Here are 10 home remedies that you can try.
1.Apple Cider Vinegar
In different home remedies for different parts of the body, the apple cider vinegar is something that is always included in the list. It has a lot of properties that can be good for the skin. It is actually good for getting rid of the infection brought about by jock itch.

  • Make sure that you have a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and mix it in with a cup of warm water.
  • Place the solution that you have created on the affected area and wash it thoroughly. Do not wipe the area and let it dry on its own.
  • Do this about 2 – 3 times a day every day. It will help get rid of the jock itch in no time.
2.White Vinegar
If you think that only apple cider vinegar is amazing against jock itch, you should know that white vinegar can also be used for a certain effect. White vinegar contains anti fungal properties that can help get rid of the bacteria causing the infection.

  • Mix a cup of vinegar with about 4 cups of water.
  • Use a piece of clean cloth and dip it on the solution that you have created.
  • Place the cloth that you have dipped in water and vinegar on the affected area. Use the cloth to wipe off the bacteria and leave it to dry.
  • Do this 2 – 3 times a day everyday for the best results.
3.Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is already commonly used for different types of skin infection. It has already been used several times to get rid of various skin bacteria that might have caused people some discomfort. Tea tree oil is also in charge of making sure that the inflammation goes down so people will not feel that uncomfortable while afflicted with jock itch.
  • Make sure that you have tea tree oil and a clean cotton ball.
  • Place the tea tree oil on the cotton ball and apply it on the affected area.
  • Do this about twice a day.
4.Rubbing Alcohol
One of the main reasons why alcohol is very effective in getting rid of jock itch is because of the fact that it makes the area dry. Since the fungus or the bacteria causing jock itch loves to live in warm, moist areas, using alcohol can dry a certain area completely and this will help get rid of jock itch.
  • Find an alcohol with high isopropyl amount. The higher the amount is, the better it will be. The highest that can be found in the market right now that is still safe for use is 90%.
  • Place the alcohol on a clean cotton ball.
  • Dab the cotton ball on the affected area. Do remember that you do not need to wipe it because it will evaporate on its own.
  • Do this as often as you like throughout the day.
5.Get Rid of Jock Itch In Women With Listerine
At this point you may be wondering why there is a need for Listerine when it is commonly being used for cleaning the mouth. Do remember that the reason why it is effective is because it cleans off the bacteria and fungi. This means that it can also be effective in getting rid of the bacteria and fungi causing the jock itch on the skin.
  • Again using a clean cotton ball, place an ample amount of Listerine on the cotton ball and apply it on the affected area.
  • Leave it on and do not wash it off. Do this for about two to three times a day for relief.
It is possible that you will be initially scared to use bleach probably because you are used to using it for clothes or cleaning things that are around the house. Still, bleach contains some properties that can help get rid of the infection.
  • Mix a small amount of bleach on a whole tub of water.
  • Soak on the tub for about 10 – 15 minutes depending on how long you think you should soak.
  • Do this every other day until such time when you see visible results.
7.Salt Bath
Salt is known to have a lot of good properties that can help get rid of the infection. Aside from the fact that it can help stop the growth of the fungus so that it will not spread, it will also help the itch heal so that it can just disappear.
  • Fill a tub with warm water
  • Place a very generous amount of salt on the tub. Do remember that any type of salt can be used.
  • Soak in the tub for about half an hour.
  • Do these processes twice a day until you see the result.
8.Use Garlic
Garlic is well known to help ward off vampires and the like but kidding aside, garlic can also be used to help get rid of jock itch probably because of the fact that it has anti fungal properties. It can also help relieve the infected area from itching. The pain brought about by the jock itch may not be felt that much as well.
  • Crush a few garlic cloves until it becomes pasty and place it on the affected area.
  • Leave the paste on the skin for about a few minutes.
  • Wash off with warm water.
  • Make sure that you do this 2 – 3 times daily.
9.Try Onion
A lot of people are not aware that onions have anti fungal properties that can help get rid of jock itch. Onion is an effective fungi killer and can help get rid of the fungi causing the jock itch easily.
  • Grind the onion until it becomes pasty in appearance.
  • Place the onion paste on the solution and leave it there for about 30 minutes.
  • Wash off with warm water.
  • Do this once or twice daily.
Honey is known to be a natural anti septic and it also has some anti inflammatory properties that can help relieve the effects of jock itch on the skin.
  • Apply a generous amount of clean honey on the skin.
  • Leave the honey on the skin for about half an hour.
  • Wash off after 30 minutes and pat dry the area with a clean cloth.
  • Do this once or twice every day.
Do remember that in order to get rid of jock itch effective, proper hygiene is also extremely important.

Physics can use sunlight to transform CO2 into clean fuels

Physics breakthrough can use sunlight to directly transform CO2 into clean fuels like methane, without using fossil fuels

(Natural NewsResearchers at the University of Adelaide, in collaboration with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, have found a way to keep on using carbon-based fuel technologies without producing too much of the atmospheric greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) by doing away with fossil fuels.

In the study that was published in the Journal of Materials Chemistry A, the researchers outlined how they were able to combine CO2 with hydrogen to produce methane – the main component of the fossil fuel natural gas – and water.

Capturing carbon from the air and utilizing it for industrial processes is one strategy for controlling CO2 emissions and reducing the need for fossil fuels. But for this to be economically viable, we need an energy-efficient process that utilizes CO2 as a carbon source,” said lead author and University of Adelaide Ph.D. Candidate Renata Lippi.

Research has shown that the hydrogen can be produced efficiently with solar energy. But combining the hydrogen with CO2 to produce methane is a safer option than using hydrogen directly as an energy source and allows the use of existing natural gas infrastructure,” Lippi added.

For his part, the university’s centre for advanced nanomaterials director, Professor Christian Doonan, confirmed that their research has been successful in its goal of achieving the means to produce clean energy via a process that would have had a different effect.

What we have produced is a highly active, highly selective (producing almost pure methane without side products) and stable catalyst that will run on solar energy. This makes carbon-neutral fuel from CO2 a viable option,” he said.

Reducing CO2 via the process of photosynthesis

In related research, University of Kentucky and Argentina’s Mar del Plata physicists have uncovered a method to lessen the amount of carbon dioxide that is produced during the process of photosynthesis.

The team, led by UK College of Arts and Sciences associate professor of chemistry Marcelo Guzman and doctorate student Ruixin Zhou, utilized a synthetic nanomaterial that infused the reducing power of cuprous oxide (Cu2O) with a coating of oxidizing titanium dioxide (TiO2) that negated the loss of copper (I) ion in the catalyst.

According to the study that was published in Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, the catalyst made of Cu2O/TiO2 was capable of transferring electrons to reduce CO2 while at the same time breaking the molecule of water – a process very similar to the “Z-scheme” mechanism, or the oxidation/reduction changes during the light reactions – from photosynthesis.

Developing the materials that can be combined to reduce CO2 through a direct Z-scheme mechanism with sunlight is an important problem. From this scientific viewpoint, the research is contributing to advance feature technology for carbon sequestration,” Zhou said.

Researchers conducted the study to find elements of a catalyst that were not rare, were easily available, and not very expensive. Rhenium and iridium, materials that could have been used to drive the reactions with sunlight energy, are scarce and costly. Instead, the researchers used corrosion-resistant TiO2 to apply a white protective coating unto octahedral particles of red Cu2O.

The scientists concluded that the catalyst was operating through a Z-scheme rather than a double-charge transfer mechanism. Concrete proof of this statement are as follows:
  • First, carbon monoxide (CO) was produced from the CO2 reduction.
  • The hydroxyl radical intermediate from water oxidation was on its way to form oxygen (O2).
  • Various electronic and optical properties and individual components of the catalyst proved that it operates under the Z-scheme mechanism.

The global ransomware epidemic is just getting started

The global ransomware epidemic is just getting started

WannaCry should have been a major warning to the world about ransomware. Then the GoldenEye strain of Petya ransomware arrived. What’s next?Thousands of computers around the world are getting locked up by a fast-spreading ransomware. Big businesses are getting hit. An entire hospital is shut out of its system. Suddenly, it's everywhere: the next big ransomware attack.
Here we go again. And again and again and again and again.
Thousands of computers around the world are getting locked up by a fast-spreading ransomware. Big businesses are getting hit. An entire hospital is shut out of its system. Suddenly, it's everywhere: the next big ransomware attack.
GoldenEye, a new strain of the Petya ransomware, took the world by storm on Tuesday after starting with a cyberattack in Kiev, Ukraine. From there, it spread to the country's electrical grid, airport and government offices. At the Chernobyl nuclear disaster site, workers had to monitor radiation manually because of the attack. And then it began to go global.
Russia's largest oil production company, Rosneft, suffered a cyberattack. Denmark-based Maersk, the largest shipping company in the world, had to shut down several of its systems to prevent the attack from spreading. New Jersey-based Merck, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, also suffered a massive hack. FedEx's TNT Express service was hit hard from the breach as well.
The list of affected victims goes on, just like it did when the WannaCry ransomware hit in May and locked up more than 200,000 computers across the globe.
It only took 44 days for GoldenEye to stare us down.
Ransomware has been around for years but generally only targeted individual networks, like a single hospital or person. But after the Shadow Brokers hacker group leaked National Security Agency exploits in April, cybercriminals were handed a much more dangerous weapon.
The NSA's EternalBlue exploit, which took advantage of a Windows PC's ability to quickly spread files across a network, is the ammunition that powers both WannaCry and GoldenEye.
With the exploit, you don't need to be breached personally to get infected.
Even if you're a responsible user on an updated computer, someone on your network could be tricked into downloading malware through emails or a loaded Word document.
It's why you're seeing attacks on this scale and why the word "unprecedented" keeps getting thrown around.
Imagine fishing with a single rod and then suddenly you're given a giant net. For hackers, it's time to head out to sea.

Ransomware 2.0

The mix of the NSA's hacking tools with normal malware has created a toxic combination, especially since you can essentially go shopping for malware. GoldenEye is a variant of Petya, which was sold on forums on the dark web since last April as a ransomware service: The buyers get 85 percent of the profit, while the malware's creators reap 15 percent.
"You don't have to be a cyber wiz to inflict cyber damage," Michael Daly, chief technology officer at Raytheon Cybersecurity, said in an email. "Various do-it-yourself kits are available as well as ransomware as an outsourced service on the deep web forums."
The malware has gotten smarter, too. WannaCry, despite its fame, was fairly basic. A researcher accidentally discovered its killswitch after experimenting with a registered domain name.
Compared with GoldenEye, WannaCry looks like it was written by amateurs. Using Petya, the new ransomware attack not only encrypts crucial files but your entire hard drive and then forces your computer to restart.
It also deletes the computer's event logs to cover its tracks and hide from analysts, said Mark Mager, a security researcher at Endgame.
"Forensic analysts will be unable to access this data that would be useful to their investigation," Mager said in a direct message.
And you can't just accidentally find the killswitch again. Amit Serper, a Cybereason researcher, found a way to block GoldenEye by creating a file on your hard drive, but it won't shut down every infection like the WannaCry killswitch.
Marcus Hutchins, better known as Malware Tech and the researcher who found the WannaCry fix, said a fix for GoldenEye would not be "doable remotely."

The fix isn't in

WannaCry was supposed to be a wake-up call for people to update their computers with the latest software. But it appears people just forgot about the attack and went on with their lives.
Avast, an antivirus company, found that 38 million PCs scanned just last week still have not patched their systems. That's after Microsoft released special patches so that outdated computers running on Windows XP and earlier versions could be protected from the NSA exploits.
Considering that not everybody uses Avast, Jakub Kroustek, Avast's threat lab lead, inferred that the "actual number of vulnerable PCs is probably much higher."
Microsoft did not respond to requests for comment.
Evidently, WannaCry was not the tipping point for people to actually act, and if the trend continues, GoldenEye won't be either.
The attacks are getting smarter, making more money and being sold as tools. And people are leaving themselves vulnerable.
I'll see you in a month for the next massive attack.

Top Canadian Court Permits Worldwide Internet Censorship

Top Canadian Court Permits Worldwide Internet Censorship

Creating a “worldwide heckler’s veto” for repressive regimes.

By Aaron Mackey and Corynne McSherry and Vera Ranieri, Electronic Frontier Foundation:

A country has the right to prevent the world’s Internet users from accessing information, Canada’s highest court ruled on Wednesday.

In a decision that has troubling implications for free expression online, the Supreme Court of Canada upheld a company’s effort to force Google to de-list entire domains and websites from its search index, effectively making them invisible to everyone using Google’s search engine

The case, Google v. Equustek, began when British Columbia-based Equustek Solutions accused Morgan Jack and others, known as the Datalink defendants, of selling counterfeit Equustek routers online. It claimed California-based Google facilitated access to the defendants’ sites. The defendants never appeared in court to challenge the claim, allowing default judgment against them, which meant Equustek effectively won without the court ever considering whether the claim was valid.

Although Google was not named in the lawsuit, it voluntarily took down specific URLs that directed users to the defendants’ products and ads under the local (Canadian) domains. But Equustek wanted more, and the British Columbia Supreme Court ruled that Google had to delete the entire domain from its search results, including from all other domains such and The British Columbia Court of Appeal upheld the decision, and the Supreme Court of Canada decision followed the analysis of those courts.
EFF intervened in the case, explaining [.pdf] that such an injunction ran directly contrary to both the U.S. Constitution and statutory speech protections. Issuing an order that would cut off access to information for U.S. users would set a dangerous precedent for online speech.  In essence, it would expand the power of any court in the world to edit the entire Internet, whether or not the targeted material or site is lawful in another country. That, we warned, is likely to result in a race to the bottom, as well-resourced individuals engage in international forum-shopping to impose the one country’s restrictive laws regarding free expression on the rest of the world.

The Supreme Court of Canada ignored those concerns. It ruled that because Google was subject to the jurisdiction of Canadian courts by virtue of its operations in Canada, courts in Canada had the authority to order Google to delete search results worldwide. The court further held that there was no inconvenience to Google in removing search results, and Google had not shown the injunction would offend any rights abroad.

Perhaps even worse, the court ruled that before Google can modify the order, it has to prove that the injunction violates the laws of another nation thus shifting the burdent of proof from the plaintiff to a non-party. An innocent third party to a lawsuit shouldn’t have to shoulder the burden or proving whether an injunction violates the laws of another country. Although companies like Google may be able to afford such costs, many others will not, meaning many overbroad and unlawful orders may go unchallenged. Instead, once the issue has been raised at all, it should be the job of the party seeking the benefit of an order, such as Equustek, to establish that there is no such conflict. Moreover, numerous intervenors, including EFF, provided ample evidence of that conflicts in this case.

Beyond the flaws of the ruling itself, the court’s decision will likely embolden other countries to try to enforce their own speech-restricting laws on the Internet, to the detriment of all users. As others have pointed out, it’s not difficult to see repressive regimes such as China or Iran use the ruling to order Google to de-index sites they object to, creating a worldwide heckler’s veto.

The ruling largely sidesteps the question of whether such a global order would violate foreign law or intrude on Internet users’ free speech rights. Instead, the court focused on whether or not Google, as a private actor, could legally choose to take down speech and whether that would violate foreign law. This framing results in Google being ordered to remove speech under Canadian law even if no court in the United States could issue a similar order.

The Equustek decision is part of a troubling trend around the world of courts and other governmental bodies ordering that content be removed from the entirety of the Internet, not just in that country’s locale. On the same day the Supreme Court of Canada’s decision issued, a court in Europe heard arguments as to whether to expand the right-to-be-forgotten worldwide.

EFF was represented at the Supreme Court of Canada and the British Columbia Court of Appeal by David Wotherspoon of MacPherson Leslie & Tyerman and Daniel Byma of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin. By Aaron Mackey and Corynne McSherry and Vera Ranieri, Electronic Frontier Foundation.

“Today, most of the good people are afraid to be good. They strive to be broadminded and tolerant ! It is fashionable to be tolerant — but mostly tolerant of evil — and this new code has reached the proportions of demanding intolerance of good. The wall of resistance to evil has thus been broken down and no longer affords protection to those who, persecuted by evil doers, stand in need of it.” – Edith Starr Miller, 1933
