Understanding Tariffs - Part 2
Because tariffs are generally paid by the importer, the consumers purchasing those products face higher retail prices. Most people neither understand the purpose of a tariff or what their end goal is intended to accomplish.
Manufacturing and supply chains in the USA and Canada have dwindled, and in some cases, vanished over the past three decades (electronics, appliances, furniture, clothing etc). This collapse of the manufacturing industry has resulted in significant job losses, and in many cases resulted in lower quality of the products being imported.
We have acquiesced into accepting manufacturing cycles centered around the Doctrine of Obsolesence. This has created waste, pollution and unnecessary purchase cycles.
The manufacturing exodus led to Canadian and American entrepreneurs/corporations having invested abroad (lower labour costs, lower taxation and less government intervention). The end result is that the Canadian and American tax base dwindled, creating a need to elevate and create all forms of other taxes.
What is Donald Trump doing?
Yes, Trump is creating global havoc, but for a great cause. It's called America. As Elon Musk has stated, if America falls, the world will fall and democracy will die. This is the ultimate cause for which I applaud Donald Trump, and every nation and citizen residing in democratic nations should be supporting him. Trump is single-handedly fighting Globalism and a looming Marxist Technocracy, where freedom of speech, freedom movement and liberty will, if enacted, vanish. If you don't get it, you are stupid.
Tariffs are intended to re-establish a manufacturing base and supply chains back into the USA. In this case, Trump is asking the American people to invest in America by paying a little bit more for imported goods. There is an initial financial shock but the outcome would be miraculous. As JFK once stated, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.
The initial high prices would encourage foreign manufacturers to setup shop in America to avoid the tariffs (i.e. to create internal demand for their products). This would create jobs and a growing corporate tax base. This would also stir internal competition and eventually drive down prices.
Forget the media, forget Mark Carney and the Liberals. They have no plan because they've never had one. The Liberals' main objective is to fuck the Canadian taxpayer and direct us closer to Global Marxism - every leader of the Liberal Party is a sworn minion of the WEF. They are not fighting for Canada, they are going to destroy Canada. Trump is trying to save us from the wrath of Globalism and more than half of Canadians don't get it. Shame on you.
Thank you,
Joseph Pede
Footnote:
By Shaun Newman"Two powerful Canadians secretly shaped our financial future for a decade.
One was caught in a MASSIVE money laundering scandal.
The other just became Prime Minister.
No one's talking about their connection. Until now...
Frank McKenna was TD Bank's Deputy Chair while the bank helped drug cartels move dirty money for nearly a decade.
They just paid a $3.1 BILLION fine to settle these charges.
Mark Carney, our new Prime Minister, has deep ties to McKenna through Brookfield Asset Management.
McKenna was Brookfield's Chairman. He brought Carney on board in 2020.
Think about this timeline:
• TD Bank laundering money (during McKenna's watch)
• McKenna brings Carney to Brookfield
• Carney becomes Chair of Brookfield
• Carney suddenly leaves to run for Prime Minister
• McKenna publicly endorses him
The connections are interesting...
• McKenna: Controls one of Canada's largest banks and asset managers
• Carney: Now runs our government
• Both push heavily for "green transition" investments
• Brookfield is perfectly positioned to manage these trillion-dollar shifts
No executives went to jail for TD's money laundering.
Just a fine that shareholders ultimately pay for.
Meanwhile, McKenna's protégé now sits in the Prime Minister's office.
The same office that regulates banks like TD and investment firms like Brookfield.
Convenient, isn't it?
This isn't about conspiracy theories.
It's about an interconnected system where political power, financial influence, and corporate governance blur together.
The next time someone talks about the "green transition" or "sustainable investing," ask yourself:
Who's really benefiting? The planet? Or the power players who control the money flows?
I'm not claiming anything improper happened (other than what TD Bank already admitted to and was fined for).
I'm just asking questions most mainstream media won't touch.
Because sometimes the most important stories are the ones we're not supposed to notice."
