Canada, In Shock - Trump and the Titan of A.I. - Gigafactories and Peak Efficiency

Canada, In Shock
Trump and the Titan of A.I.
Gigafactories and Peak Efficiency

Canada manufactures about 1.5 million new vehicles each year, while the numbers can fluctuate based on factors such as market demand, production capacity, and economic conditions the province of Ontario is a key hub for vehicle production, with automakers Ford (70-80%), General Motors (75-80%), Honda (70%), Toyota (60-70%) and Stellantis (70-80%), having plants in the region and exporting the vehicle percentages shown to the USA. The Canadian automotive manufacturing sector employs approximately 125,000 - 150,000 people across various roles, including vehicle assembly, parts manufacturing, and related industries. The general rule of thumb is that every automotive manufacturing job provides for an additional ten related jobs.
In 2024, approximately 1.8 million new vehicles were sold in Canada, marking an 8.8% increase compared to 2023. This growth reflects a positive trend in the Canadian automotive market, though sales remained below the 2 million threshold. Zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) accounted for about 13.8% of all new vehicle sales in 2024, with sales peaking in September at over 30,000 units. There has been a slight reduction in sales for the first two months of 2025.
Of the 1.8 million vehicles sold in Canada in 2024, approximately 1.4 million were imported, and the remaining 400,000 - 500,000 vehicles were manufactured in Canada. This means roughly 22-28% of the vehicles sold in Canada in 2024 were produced within the country, mainly by automakers like Honda, Toyota, Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis, whose plants are primarily located in Ontario. A "Made in Canada" shift to vehicle purchasing would have a tremendous impact on the nearly 4,000 new vehicle dealerships and 150,000 dealership employees throughout Canada.
A 60 cent Canadian dollar appears to be on the horizon. This may be the quickest way of overcoming a 25% tariff. Higher central bank interest rates offer more attractive returns on savings and fixed-income investments (such as bonds), and higher rates would draw foreign investors seeking higher yields into Canada.
The media is misleading the Canadian public into believing the USA cannot build structures to support manufacturing in a short period of time. Trump has a secret weapon named Elon Musk, and while the world persecutes Musk, he is single-handedly restructuring and revolutionizing the USA. The U.S. government will be completely automated by Artificial Intelligence by the end of 2025. Musk's peak efficiency fanaticism will centralize and optimize the American government. Trump's goal is to eliminate income taxes and use tariffs as the key government revenue stream.
Elon Musk's companies, particularly Tesla, are known for building Gigafactories at an incredibly fast pace. While the timeline for each factory can vary based by location, regulations, and other factors, here are a few examples of how quickly Musk has been able to build Tesla Gigafactories:
  1. Gigafactory Shanghai (China): Time to build: The Gigafactory in Shanghai was announced in 2018, and the factory was producing vehicles by late 2020.
  2. Gigafactory Berlin (Germany): Time to build: Groundbreaking for Gigafactory Berlin occurred in 2020, and production officially began in 2022.
  3. Gigafactory Texas (Austin, USA): Time to build: Construction of the Gigafactory in Austin began in mid-2020, and Tesla started limited production in late 2021, with full-scale production ramping up in 2022.
Musk is constructing the greatest A.I. infrastructure in the world. The implications are such that the United States will become the greatest self-sufficient economy in the world. Canada could become part of this great phenomenon but we are too afraid to become part of one the greatest political, manufacturing, economic and military paradigm shifts in history. The blind are better equipped to imagine what will come to pass.
Trump's concern for unborn life, faith and spirituality, family and nation-building are the fail-safes for uncontrollable A.I. Musk's documented concerns about OpenAI and other facets of AI appear to compliment Trump's vision of the future. Please understand that money means absolutely nothing to Elon Musk. Attacking his pocket book has no impact on Musk's ambition to build a better world.
Thank you,
Joseph Pede
