The Devil don't do the nice

The Devil don't do the nice

Jesus was a rambling kind of guy
Moving from rodeo to rodeo
He'd stop and talk to the all the cowboys and cowgirls
Atop His donkey He would travel everywhere
Even stop at a commune with those professing Flower Power
He'd join in with a little Manna under the stars
Resting with those who were Lost and ready to be Found
Jesus rode through the Red Light Districts
Attracting the women of ill-repute
Naturally He rejected all their tempting offers
Instead offering them a good bath as would John the Baptist
He crashed a few weddings
Yet no-one said anything about the stranger
Turning water into Champagne made drunkards smile
He'd stop in at the local mortuary
Momentarily referencing a corpse to the Book of Life
Enbalming wasn't His thing
But an Ephphatha opened new horizons for some of the dead
Even the dying proved fun for Him
Jesus would occasionally rest with the Lepers
He Lent a hand to those who had lost one
Occasionally making the blind see, and
The cripple walk
Do you see the difference between Jesus and the Devil
The Devil don't do the nice
He's all about himself

Thank you,
Joseph Pede
