i feel a hunger

i feel a hunger

i feel a hunger for justice

for the body of the unseen hand to reveal itself

to have evil liberate itself from the masquerade

for it to relinquish its Mephistophelean cape

for the fangs to retreat from the night

to let humanity’s tears cleanse itself of the madness

to let children grow apart from depravity

to let humankind be free from of the Machiavellian agenda

to not trivialize the sacrifice of the aged

to recognize the anguish of those who are lost

i feel a hunger

to unmask the wickedness of the perpetrators

to shine a light upon their shadows

to smell the air free of death's rot

to watch the castle dungeons fall into ruination

to let kings and queens scurry from their comfort

to let the darkened veil soak atop Conan Doyle’s mire

to fill the emptiness of the abyss

to free the spectres from the dampened caves

to have the sigil emancipate herself from the haunting visions

I feel a hunger to bury the lie

thank you,

joseph pede
