Donald Trump and Canada
I keep hearing from our politicians that Trump is "unpredictable". Well, that makes him "predicable". Canada must simply submit to any reasonable request or politely disagree. We should not look to purchase Gripens when we know F35s make political, if not financial sense, nor do we run attack ads expecting to win the Alamo. An apple goes a long way, and Trump hails from the Big Apple.
My big question - why are we employing Leblanc and Joly in our CUSMA trade talks. It don't work. Trump hated Freeland because she came from the "fake news" industry. Leblanc and Joly are obviously only representing Quebec and not Canada. We should be shadowing Danielle Smith's strategy as she appears to have Trump's good side.
I have never followed Steven MacKinnon, but here's a guy, who in my opinion should have been a Conservative, but even better, he talks, argues and presents himself with a smile. He's one dangerous dude - bilingual and likely a Freemason with a "Big Mac" last name. Rather than assigning him to the rail yards, how about unleashing him on Trump's trade team. This guy has something called "it". Perhaps he can even propose a "modern" high speed train line from Toronto to New York. Canadian tax dollars are being wasted on Quebec. Scott Moe presents a very telling map of Canadian lunacy. When will Quebec grow up, stop living in Canada's basement and leave home? I think the only pipe that will be built in Alberta is a peace pipe with no tobacco.
The Federal government gave the 2026 equalization amounts to the provincial finance ministers. This map is a clear indication of which provinces are driving Canada’s economy and how the equalization formula disincentivizes economic growth. Scott Moe
