The Shroud of Death
Mortality is christened as the
cord of inception is scythed into extinction
Parturition then attires each new
life with the shroud of death
Coverings of mucous and blood
cautiously replaced by the wares of life
Each new luminary potentially the
next great hope for mankind
The nipple nourishes the tiny
creature as it matures into the brave new world
All the while each new dawn gently
secures the lid on the stone sarcophagus
Life has begun its fateful
journey into death
Neglectful of the Essence which
granted it the temporal ether of existence
