Happy New Year

Embrace the once upon a time we once knew

For today we must bid the past a friendly adieu

Fairy tales once brought wonder to the imagination

Today science has brought realism to animation

The passing of the past is not an easy thing to swallow

Memories confused and eerily hollow

The staggering mind attempts to recall what may have been

Circumstances differ courtesy of the manipulator’s adrenaline

Our infinite moments have been seeded with paralyzing lies

Reasoning engineered so as to consciousness balkanize

Finally finding rest in the Pretender’s chasm

There our veins have been transfused with Frankenstein’s plasm

Awake to raise a glass to the happy new year

For the future is present within the past’s celestial sphere

Acknowledging that time is eternally omnipresent, and

All that what once was will be tomorrow’s present
