justice

justice

justice

it’s just a word

it’s something we are tempted to pursue

but it is burdened by a heavy load

not a mass which succumbs to a gravitational force

but rather by the weight of an infallible principle

one that encumbers all of oneself

call it truth

the syllables may be cloaked with a chill

but they burn like a hot poker

justice cannot be cryogenically suspended

only weakened by a callous thaw

yet let justice burn and

its embers will once again reawaken to a desolate world

readying itself for a new prosecution

not by a high court

but rather by the new emerging lie

waiting for its cyclical abandonment

awaiting rest in a desolate crypt

accompanied by apparition-like pallbearers

justice

rest in peace

thank you,

joseph pede
