The Death of God?
What is IT that separates humans from one another? In a nutshell, it is in our diverse understanding and interpretation of God. We have defined that separation as “religion”.
The burning question remains - what would separate humans in the absence of God or religion? Hate appears to be the only logical answer, but hate is rooted in truth and those that hate the truth hate everything to do with seeking it out, and we know truth to be an indirect inference to God.
We also know that what unites people is a “cause”, or better yet, an existential threat. Would the death of God be considered an existential threat? The death of God would eliminate all the ethical and moral barriers proposed by inspired scripture. Legislated rules and guilt would become the only guardians of human behaviour. But would the death of God achieve that end. Free Will, with its unparalleled power, would soon disrupt the new utopia.
Evil is consistently at work undermining the potential for the greater good. Perhaps it is better to celebrate God by commemorating the death of evil. But how do we identify and eliminate something that comes in so many forms?
Seek out the truth and evil will vanish.
Thank you,
Joseph Pede
