Doppelgänger’s demon
we awake to fill time
wash, eat and work
if lucky we have a moment to smile
perhaps make a few phone calls
text like crazy otherwise
a Google search breaks the monotony
routine fills the remains of the day
indoctrinated disciples of a lonely world
family a toxic distraction
the idea to difficult to imagine if single
the lonely dog awaits your return
yet your mind is occupied by nothing
the laptop provides the only refuge
the Doppelgänger’s demon
be whomever you want, except yourself
anonymity and imagination at play
virtual becoming reality
time passes quickly when imitating the fool
the midnight hour passes
and so too does life
thank you,
joseph pede
