wizard of oz
it was an odd day in kansas
toto thought so as well
the yellow brick road had lost its shimmer
the sunflower fields were sobbing
the curtain to reality had been drawn shut
a silicon valley appeared
wickedness and witches littered the landscape
wind and rain muddied the skies
the lone scarecrow was seen trembling in the fields
yet a brain would have given him understanding
in the distance stood an old barn
the clanging sound of rusted metal echoed throughout
a forlorn tin man was unable to escape his rigor
oh, but for a heart he cried
the wizard of oz had cast a shadow over the calm
the sanctity of life was withering away
wheat fields had turned to jungle
humanity now comforted alongside the cowardly lion
thank you,
joseph pede
