Shifting in ancient times - Urush-Daur

Shifting in ancient times - Urush-Daur
Do the Elite Transfer Consciousness

The idea that consciousness can move or be transferred to other bodies or realities has been the subject of fascination and speculation in multiple cultures and philosophical and religious traditions throughout history. The purpose of this short report is explore the notion of change, or movement of consciousness (shifting), in its various manifestations, from ancient times to the present, with an emphasis on the myths, legends, and spiritual practices that relate to this idea.

Urush-Daur: the Sumerian ritual of the transmigration of consciousness

One of the earliest historical records of the idea of change is found in the religious practices of ancient Mesopotamia. The Sumerians, one of the earliest known civilizations, believed in a process called Urush-Daur, which roughly translates to "crossing the threshold." This ritual involved the transfer of consciousness from one person to another, through a complex process that involved the invocation of deities and the use of sacred objects.

The Urush-Daur was performed in specific situations, such as when a community leader was on the verge of death and it was sought to preserve his wisdom and experiences in a new body. The Sumerians believed that consciousness could be transferred in this way, thus ensuring the continuity and progress of the community.

Tibetan and Buddhist Legends: The Tulku and Conscious Reincarnation

Tibetan Buddhism offers another approach to the concept of change, through the phenomenon of Tulku or conscious reincarnation. In this tradition, certain spiritual masters, called Tulkus, are considered to have the ability to control the reincarnation process and consciously choose the body in which they will be reborn in their next life, guided by their compassion and desire to benefit all beings.

This idea is related to the Buddhist belief in rebirth, which holds that all living things die and are reborn in successive cycles, each experiencing different ways of life and circumstances. However, the Tulkus are seen as exceptional beings, who have reached a high level of spiritual realization and can control this process of rebirth through practice and development of the mind.

In this context, shifting is understood as a voluntary and conscious process, in which the Tulku decides in which family, place and time to be reborn, with the aim of continuing his work of teaching and spiritual guidance for the benefit of all beings.

Shifting Today: New Interpretations and Practices

In recent times, the concept of shifting has acquired new forms and meanings, especially in the realm of spirituality and the new age. Some current currents maintain that it is possible to experience changes of consciousness to other realities or dimensions through specific practices, such as meditation, visualization, lucid dreaming or the use of entheogenic substances.

These practices seek to induce altered states of consciousness that allow the individual to "transfer" to other realities and live experiences that can be interpreted as visions, astral travel or communications with beings from other dimensions. Often these experiences are seen as a form of spiritual growth and self-awareness, providing a broader perspective on existence and life's purpose.

The concept of displacement, or movement of consciousness towards other bodies or realities, has been a constant in various cultures and philosophical and religious traditions throughout history. From the Sumerian ritual of Urush-Daur to Tibetan practices of conscious reincarnation and contemporary interpretations in the realm of spirituality and new age, the idea that consciousness can transcend the limits of the body and material reality has inspired a wide variety of of myths, legends. and spiritual practices.

This fascination with shifting reflects the human search for transcendence, a desire to understand and experience aspects of existence that go beyond what we perceive with our senses and think with our minds.

With this short writing, I would like it to be clear in the community that shifting is not a new phenomenon nor does it belong to the trending topic of adolescents on tiktok, but that similar phenomena have existed over time.

The most noticeable difference in the current shifting, and in the aforementioned rites, is that most of the "forced incarnations" would be in this same timeline, or in even higher planes, but would still belong to the near and next kingdoms. , while shifting involves seeking rebirth in farther realms.
