Master Li Hongzhi - A message from the founder and leader of Falun Gong

Why does humanity exist?

First of all, I'm taking this opportunity of the Chinese New Year to greet you!

Since it's the New Year, the custom is to exchange good wishes, words we like to hear, but I see the danger that is approaching humanity step by step. That is why the deities and the Buddhas have asked me to speak a few words they wish to address to all beings throughout the world; each phrase is part of the celestial secrets, intended to reveal the truth to people and give them one last chance at salvation.

Why does humanity exist? From its birth to its end, the universe must go through the very long process of four stages: formation, stability, degeneration, and destruction. Once the universe reaches the end of the final process of "destruction," everything contained within the celestial body, including the universe in which we live, will be instantly disintegrated and will cease to exist! All life will be annihilated!

Death is merely the decay and aging of the physical body, while the original spirit of man (his true self does not die) will be reincarnated in his next life. The universe has formation, stability, degeneration, and destruction; a human being has birth, old age, sickness, and death—these are the laws of the universe. Deities also have this process, but it is very long; the greater the deity, the longer the process. Their birth and death occur without suffering, and they remain lucid throughout, like changing their clothes. This means that, generally speaking, lives do not die. If the universe and the celestial body were to disintegrate in the final stage of formation, stability, degeneration, and destruction, reincarnation would no longer exist for life; all life and matter would cease to exist; everything would turn to dust, everything would return to nothingness. Today, the human world is experiencing the final stage of "destruction" in its cycle of formation, stability, degeneration, and destruction. Nothing is good at the end of this final stage; that is why there is destruction, that is why current society is in such disarray. People no longer have benevolent thoughts, sexuality is unrestrained, the heart is perverted, drugs proliferate, belief in deities is lost, and so on. Chaotic phenomena abound; this is inevitable when the celestial body reaches its end—it means the time has come!

The Creator cherishes the deities and the many wondrous and benevolent life forms, as well as the marvelous creations within the celestial body. Therefore, at the beginning of the "degeneration," He took a group of deities and came to the outermost part of the celestial body (generally said to be outside the world of Fa ), where there are no deities, and He created the Earth. The Earth cannot exist independently; there must be corresponding celestial structures that form a circulatory system between life forms and living beings. For this purpose, the Creator constructed a great perimeter around the Earth, which the deities call the "Three Worlds." Until the time of salvation arrives at the end of the final stage, no matter how high a deity's level, it cannot freely enter and leave the Three Worlds without the Creator's consent. Within the sphere of the Three Worlds, three great worlds are distinguished. For beings on Earth, including human beings, this level is called the "world of desire." Above the world of desire is the second world, called the "world of form." Above that is the third world, the "world of formlessness." Each world is higher and more beautiful than the previous one, but none is comparable to the celestial realms of the Fa  worlds and those above the Fa worlds . What human beings generally call heaven is, in fact, the heaven (within the Three Worlds) of the world of form and the world of formlessness. As each world has ten levels of heaven, within the Three Worlds, there are a total of thirty-three levels, including the Three Worlds themselves. Human beings live in the world of desire, the lowest level, with the worst and most hostile environment. Human life is short and full of suffering; the most frightening thing is that there are no righteous principles in the human world; in the universe, human principles are reversed (with the exception of the principles of Fa). (which the gods teach humanity). For example: the victor becomes king, armies conquer the world, the strong become heroes, etc. None of this is a righteous principle in the eyes of the gods; all of this is obtained through killing and stealing. The universe and the gods would not act this way, but here among human beings, it is necessary; it can be done. These are the principles of the human world. Compared to the principles of the universe, they are "inverted principles." Therefore, to return to Heaven, one must "cultivate" oneself according to righteous principles. Some think they are doing very well because they lead a slightly better life than others; they find it very good, but they are only men comparing themselves to other men in this world. In reality, everyone lives in the garbage heap of the universe. The Three Worlds are constructed in the outermost part of the universe and the celestial body. Everything here is composed of molecules, atoms, and so on—the coarsest and dirtiest particles. In the eyes of the deities, this is where the waste of the universe is disposed of. This is why the deities consider molecules, this level of particles, as dust; it is the lowest level. This is also the original meaning of what religions say: "God created man from dust . " It means that, in fact, the deities used the matter of this level, made of molecules, to create human beings.

The deities created human beings at the Creator's command. He instructed various deities to fashion human beings of different appearances, based on their own images. This is why there are people of the white race, the yellow race, the black race, and so on; only their physical appearance differs. The lives within them were given by the Creator, and therefore all are of equal value. The Creator instructed the deities to create human beings for the purpose of using them at the end of the final stage, when the beings of the universe and the celestial body, including the many deities, will be saved.

So why did the Creator ask the deities to create humanity in such a wicked and inferior environment? Because it is the lowest level of the universe, where there is the most suffering. It is in suffering that one can cultivate and practice, it is in suffering that one can eliminate the karma of sins. If even in suffering, one can remain benevolent and grateful, be a good person, that is self-elevation. Moreover, salvation is a bottom-up process; it necessarily begins at the lowest point. Life exists here in suffering; there are also conflicts of interest between people, and in the worst and most hostile environment, human beings must work hard mentally and physically to survive. All of this can provide life with an opportunity to rise and eliminate its karma. In suffering one can eliminate karma, that is certain; if even in suffering and conflict, someone can maintain benevolence, he will accumulate merit and virtue and his life will attain elevation.

Having arrived in the modern era, where the Creator must use the human body to save the lives of the universe, the original lives within human bodies have mostly been replaced by "deities" who have reincarnated as human beings. Because with a human body, one can eliminate the karma of sins through suffering, and at the same time, in the absence of righteous principles, if one can preserve the righteous principles transmitted by the deities, if one can preserve their benevolence, then this being will attain ascension. The end of the final stage is already here; the gates of the Three Worlds' Heaven are already open; the Creator is already choosing such people to save.

In the process of formation, stability, degeneration, and destruction, nothing in the celestial bodies and the universe is pure anymore; nothing is as good as it was at the moment of formation. This is why we are moving toward "destruction." This means that everything in the celestial bodies has degenerated; there is no longer any life as good as it was at the beginning. Life is no longer pure; all life carries the karma of sins, which is why destruction occurs. Religions call this karma "original sin." To save the celestial body and the universe, the Creator asked the multitude of deities and lords to descend into this world, to become human beings in this environment, to endure trials, to rise, to eliminate sins, to reshape themselves, so that they could return to Heaven. (Because at the same time as He saves human beings, the Creator is also recreating the universe.) The new universe is absolutely pure and wondrous. If human beings can maintain a benevolent mind in this challenging environment, if they can preserve traditional values in the face of the onslaught of modern ideas, and maintain their belief in the divine in the face of the onslaught of atheism and the theory of evolution, then such people will be able to achieve the goal of being saved and returning to the celestial realm. All these chaotic phenomena have been orchestrated by the deities for this final moment, in order to test whether or not beings can be saved. At the same time, during this process, suffering allows for the elimination of the karma of sins; everything is for the sake of saving people and their return to the world of the celestial realms.

So this means that a man's life in this world is not meant for any kind of social achievement. When a man strives, struggles, and seeks to obtain things by any means, all of this can only corrupt him. The purpose of being a human being by descending into this world is to eliminate the karma of sins; the goal is to cultivate oneself. Coming into this world as a human being is to be saved, to wait for the Creator to save them, and to return to their celestial world from which they became human, accumulating merit and virtue life after life while they waited. This is also the purpose of the cycle of human reincarnation; this chaotic world is made for the fulfillment of beings. However, when faced with difficulties, some ask the deities for help, and when they don't get what they want, they begin to hate the deities and even oppose the divine, thus embarking on a demonic path and creating new karma of sins. May such people quickly turn back and ask the deities for forgiveness; through repentance, hope will be rekindled. In fact, everything in human life—everything one should have and everything one should not have—is determined by the good and bad one has done in this life and the previous existence, which generates consequences in this life and the next. The amount of blessings in this life or the next is determined by the happiness and virtue accumulated in the previous life. With great happiness and virtue, it is possible to exchange them in the next life for a high position and abundant salary. They can also be exchanged for all kinds of riches and blessings, including a happy or unhappy family, and even the children one will have. This is the fundamental reason why some are rich and others poor, some are high-ranking officials and others homeless. This is not like the diabolical theory of equality of wealth advocated by the perverse Communist Party. The universe is just; good deeds are rewarded with happiness, and bad deeds must be atoned for. If not in this life, then in the next. This is an absolute principle of the Fa  of the universe! Heaven, Earth, the deities, and the Creator are compassionate toward all beings. Heaven, Earth, human beings, and the deities were all created by the Creator; He will absolutely not be good to some lives and not good to others. The retribution of cause and effect is the fundamental reason for having or not having blessings in human life.

The experience of gain and loss, in reality, seems a normal occurrence in society, but fundamentally, it is the individual who creates the cause and effect. However, having or not having, gain and loss, manifests itself in forms that conform to the state of society. Therefore, whether you are rich or poor in this life, you must absolutely act well, refrain from wrongdoing, maintain kindness, respect Heaven and the deities, and help your neighbor with joy. This is how one accumulates happiness and virtue and will receive the rewards of happiness in the next life. In ancient China, elders often said that one shouldn't blame Heaven and Earth for suffering in this life; one should perform more good deeds and accumulate more virtue, and then everything would be alright in the next life. This means that even if you ask the deities for help, it will be useless if you didn't act well and accumulate virtue in your previous life. The universe has its Fa criteria , and even the deities must conform to them. If a deity did something wrong, they too will be punished. It's not as simple as people think. Should the deities give you everything you want? The condition is that you must have accumulated happiness and virtue in your previous life to be able to exchange them for what you desire! This is the principle of the Fa  of the universe that determined it. But fundamentally, accumulating happiness and virtue is not the essential goal. The most important thing about having accumulated a lot of happiness and virtue in one's life is to use them to pave the way for one's own return to Heaven, rather than exchanging them for the fleeting joys of human life!
