The Ostrich - Ma'at / When Science faces off against Political Science - politics wins

An advocacy organisation, Animal Justice, called on the CFIA to conduct “renewed, independent testing” before culling the birds, stating that “infectious disease experts had questioned whether culling was still necessary.” The farm’s owners stated that they “had experts as well and … a large panel of them had really great qualifications.” The CFIA stated that a report submitted by the farm from a UBC professor “largely repeated opinions in other expert reports already deemed by the Federal Court to have ‘improperly’ asked it to become an ‘arbiter of truth’ on matters of immunology and public health.”

Government has become the "sole" authority on the matter of truth. This is the foundational principle of communism.

The CFIA stated that the order to proceed with depopulation (cull) and disposal measures was made, as authorized by the Health of Animals Act and guided by the stamping-out policy for highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI).” The CFIA acknowledges that the decision was upheld by the federal courts (the Federal Court of Appeal found CFIA’s decision “reasonable and… in a procedurally fair manner”).

According to an article from The Tyee, Dr. Byram Bridle was one of the experts whose report was submitted by the farm to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and to the Federal Court. The article states:

“Bridle told the Federal Court that the CFIA hadn’t done enough work to establish whether the H5N1 virus detected in the ostriches was ‘proof of a highly pathogenic virus.’” Additionally, on the farm’s website, he is quoted endorsing the birds’ scientific value: “The eggs of the ostriches contain antibodies… For any pathogens that the ostrich hens have either recovered naturally from or been vaccinated against… they will concentrate antibodies in their eggs… These would be valuable breeding stock…”

In short, Dr Bridle opposed (or at least questioned) the cull, arguing the scientific basis for it was insufficient and pointing to the surviving flock’s potential value for research.

Canada seeks to attract scholars, researchers and entrepreneurs yet during the Covid lockdowns many of those scientific voices were silenced. What could have drawn us closer to the truth, was suffocated by lies. In Canada, ostriches have become emblematic of the silenced voice of Canada's scientific community - perhaps even the Palestinian struggle or the future state of humanity. 

In ancient Egypt, ostrich feathers symbolized truth and justice, often associated with the goddess Ma’at. Ma'at is an ancient Egyptian goddess symbolizing cosmic harmony, truth, and justice. She represented the principles that governed the universe, ensuring the balance against chaos; yet our earthly gods have found comfort in Satan and Shiva.
