Bab al-Mandab Strait

Do you think that the decision makers in the USA and Israel did not know that declaring war on Iran would not cause the Strait of Hormuz to close. Of course they did.

What happens if Yemen joins the Middle East Triad and closes the Bab al-Mandab Strait as well. The Bab al-Mandab Strait is a vital global chokepoint connecting the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean, facilitating 10–12% of total global maritime trade. It is crucial for energy security, with roughly 6.2 million barrels of oil and petroleum products passing through it daily.  It is the essential southern gateway to the Suez Canal, linking Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The strait is critical for transporting oil and natural gas from the Persian Gulf to Europe and North America. Yemen's Houthi Movement (Ansar Allah), which controls the capital and parts of the country, is a key ally of Iran and a member of its regional "Axis of Resistance". Iran provides the Houthis with training and weapons, including drones and missiles.

Next to drugs, oil is the secondary currency of the world. The U.S. petro-dollar is simply the virus which spontaneously generates from oil. While an energy shortage may spur innovation into alternative energy sources, using war to create an oil crisis is intended to negatively impact the global human population - food, disposable income, manufacturing (i.e. oil is a ubiquitous input for all manufacturing) and facilitates indirect taxation. Above all, an oil crisis and war create fear and insecurity.

Thank you,
