The Colour Black
A cloak of darkness blankets all that remains
Faceless shadows barely visible
Up above billboards cast an eery glow
Silence broken by the skidding subway cars
Streets transformed into frightened corridors
A grey mist labours atop the manhole covers
The colour black is all that is tangible
Evil awakes camouflaged by the obscurity
My eyes blinded by the nothingness of colour
Yet the hues of technology remains aglow
Uncertainty and fear have come to greet me
Witches and goblins more real than ever
Ghosts appear imprisoned by the cemetery gates
The living not knowing they are dying
Thank you,
Joseph Pede
