Black Magicians
the filament quivers by the pale moonlight
walls cooled by an eerie mist
the distant bridge void of reflection from the river below
life preoccupied by an unknown predicament
reality confused by the absence of the days’ normal illusions
the Black Magicians departed into their catacombs
only charlatans remain
parading in their chariots of chaos
eerily gazing upon the maddened crowd
cell towers directing the latest transmission code
the air filled with ubiquitous static
the melodic hertz muffled to the estranged mind
