A Requiem Mass for Canada
Canada died while sleeping years ago
what we presumed to be the best was a lie
the king presided over the mass extinction
politicians turned to treachery and treason
hospitals became our newest morgues
churches resurrected as condos for the minions
families morphed into warring tribes
the country became woke and is now broke
the unborn and old both aborted
premiers pontificating as territorial fools
while the Natives and Aboriginals hunted for new ideas
but then came Trump
dizzy Davos and the WHO are asking what
a tariff call has caused global panic
prior treason has turned to political action
Euro royals are polishing their tarnished crowns
pursuit of global war may now be suicidal
Trump has declared war on NATO
it’s amazing what one man can do
while eight billion stand idle
and Canada attends a mass presided over by a fool
let the frankincense burn
