Donald Trump "has not" placed retaliatory tariffs on American goods imported into Canada. Justin Trudeau has done that. The revenue from these tariffs will be collected by CRA, not the IRS. The Canadian retaliatory tariffs are absolutely and completely unnecessary. It's a Liberal government tax grab.
As previously discussed, retaliatory tariffs will effect monetary policy. It is likely our dollar will fall and to protect the fall, interest rates will have to be increased. The impact of tariffs on Canadian goods imported into the USA will be minimal. Canadians are being bamboozled by the Liberals, and CBC is doing a great job of subliminally promoting the Liberals for the upcoming federal election, at the expense of the Canadian economy.
What other supply chains are Canadian importers securing to import goods into Canada at a lower cost or that are tariff free - likely none.
If I understood correctly, the Liberals had announced a billion dollar investment in border security over five years. Wow, and that was supposed to impress Trump, when Dug Ford said he would invest $10-20 billion or whatever to keep Ontario's economy and jobs safe. That's why Ford apparently called for a provincial election.
Canadians are being played by a corrupt Liberal government and all the political leaders subservient to the Globalist agenda. Justin Trudeau, remove the retaliatory tariffs now. We don't need them and Canadians cannot afford them. Canada cannot win a tariff war. We do not have broad export markets.
Fix what Trump wants fixed and get rid of the Liberals.
