A young Christian woman was taken from her student residence at gunpoint, and a historic Christian town is being cut off from its land and water. These are not isolated incidents. Natalie Abudayyeh, a journalism student and member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beit Jala, was detained by Israeli forces on June 2. According to church leaders, her family initially did not know where she had been taken. She joins dozens of Palestinian women currently held in detention. At the same time, residents of Taybeh, the last entirely Christian town in the West Bank, report escalating settler incursions, threats to private property, disruption of daily life, and pressure on the community's ability to remain on its ancestral land. For Christians in the Holy Land, these developments raise a painful question: How much longer can these ancient communities endure? The birthplace of our faith should not become a place where Christians disappear. Pray for Natalie, for Taybeh, for justice and the protection of the vulnerable.
Where are our Muslim friends in the Middle East.
Palestine and Christianity are both dying.
