Happy Canada Day
Today we celebrate the birth of a nation during one of its most fragile times. At the tender age of 159, Canada has yet to find itself. While young adults seek to explore the world and find their place in it, Canada has never left its shores. Well young men did die on Europe's shores preserving something they thought would never die in two world wars.
In my view, Canada has always been the pimple stuck on the face of a greater nation, i.e. the United States, even though the mole attached to its backside is the product of a useless monarchy. We have never ventured out, stood for anything of consequence and rarely have we taken the opportunity to be the best at anything. We have however championed political exceptionalism - at present, many of our politicians are exceptional liars and thieves. This the product of British Imperialism. Unlike, Giovanni Caboto, St Patrick never made it to the Canadian shores, nor had they ever had to pop a pimple.
It's hard to believe that we continue to celebrate the death of a nation on its birthday. Not unlike individuals, nations die, but Canada is dying a slow painful Liberal death. Carney, Trudeau and Liberalism have introduced all forms of societal death - i.e. the death of free speech, the death of the young and old (i.e. euthanasia and abortion), the death of spirituality, the death of gender, the death of fair elections, the death of justice and the death of Canada's identity. Canada is a dead man walking. Today we celebrate Canada with a prime minister who is a member of and represents a foreign authority. We have no government - that died as well.
The unfounded promise that if you work hard and play by the rules, you will be able to build a good life with a home, have a stable job, and live in a safe community, has set sail for Lalaland. One thing is certain, establishment insiders and criminal and drug cartels have found a safe and comfortable home in Canada. May they toil in peace.
Thank you and where is that damn beaver when you need one,
Joseph Pede
