Hong Kong’s fate will be like King Kong

Hong Kong’s fate will be like King Kong

No matter the unquenchable will of a singular person or a nation, that will always succumbs to a greater authority. History has proven that over and over again. Protests in Hong Kong will not induce other nations to intervene, or come to the rescue of the small Asian democracy. Hong Kong is a pawn of the greater nation building strategy of China.

China’s goal is to become the undisputed technocracy of the 21st century. China seeks complete economic independence, global respectability and international influence. China perceives Hong Kong to be a relic of an old capitalist system. An obsolete mindset which competes with the greater vision of China.

The world watches as Hong Kong holds vigil to its own death, just as King Kong stood alone atop the Empire State Building awaiting his own demise. As movie enthusiasts, we all experienced the pain and tragic end of the mighty beast, yet we knew his destruction was inevitable. The primitive mind of the mighty ape fell to the dominance of the urban jungle.

Just as King Kong, Hong Kong will succumb to the greater authority of the Peoples Republic of China. It’s not fate, it’s not fiction, it’s fact.

When China’s patience runs out an army will not invade Hong Kong. Xi Jinping will do the Hong Kongese what the jews and the British did to Chinese people during the Opium Wars - break their spirit. It is Darwinism at its finest. China will break the back of the very economy it once tried to emulate. The Hong Kongese simply do not realize they are expendable.

Humanity's future will be no different than the Hong Kongese.

Thank you,
Joseph Pede
