The Bough of Blasphemy

The bough of blasphemy

Is rooted in the naivety of apostasy

No matter the size of a tree’s canopy

The fruit is bound by chastity

Akin to a timber forsaken by the grandeur of the wilderness

Eerily wrapped by weeds of an impious bitterness

Malnutrition stifles its ascent and growth

So too abandoned by the creatures of Mother Earth
